BACHELOR’S
IN FASHION DESIGN AND PATTERN MAKING
The Bachelor’s in Fashion Design and Pattern Making at MODART International is a three-year training program aimed at instructing the future key players of the fashion industry. Throughout this course, students learn to master garment creation techniques, from design to production, whilst developing their own artistic vision.
From the first year on, students learn the fundamentals of fashion drawing and pattern making, as well as the history of fashion and textiles. During the second year of formation, students deepen their knowledge on fashion design, pattern making techniques, textiles and garment technology. They also begin the process of developing their own brand identity. Every course comes along with seminars aimed at professionalizing the students.
The third year is dedicated to the creation of a personal collection that will be showcased at the end-of-year fashion show. This experience allows students to put into practice all of the skills acquired during their formation, as well as introducing their work to industry professionals.

Assessment methods
Skills and knowledge are evaluated equally, with two distinct methods: continuous assessment and end-of-term examinations.
Continuous assessment is conducted throughout the teaching period. It may consist of knowledge tests, practical cases, research assignments, and/or oral presentations to produce alone or as a group.
End-of-term examinations are scheduled outside of regular class sessions. If applicable, they may consist in several types of exercises: presenting a case study, carrying out a project, writing an activity report and/or a dissertation, or a placing the student in a simulated professional setting.
